Sometimes I wonder how much parents are involved in some of my students’ lives regarding their aspirations & professional development. You’d be surprised at how many msgs I get about needing money (lots) for either school or summer programs. I truly wish that could just dish out for all of them… But I still wonder about the parents.

Like, why can’t you loan your child $700 to study for the summer if they’re willing to pay it back or how about as a gift that shows your sacrifice as a parent? Maybe I just don’t understand because my parents, to this day, have always been my #1 supporters through love and sacrifice. And we were/are by no means rich, but to see my folks sacrifice made me work harder to (partially) return their investment with success. I also contributed what I could as a broke student, but trusted my parents to be there until i could return the favor. I know times are tough, trust…but I still can’t fully grasp the concept.

Any thoughts??
